DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff's Office are searching for an inmate after they say he walked away from his work detail at the local animal shelter.
Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff's Office told WMBF News that deputies began searching for 39-year-old Shawn Izell Jones shortly after noon on Thursday after employees at the Dillon County Animal Shelter reported he had walked away from his work detail.
Jones was currently serving a sentence for failure to pay child support at the Dillon County Detention Center.
Jones has now been added into the National Crime Information Center as "wanted," Arnette said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jones should report it the Dillon County Sheriff's Office or your local authorities as soon as possible.
