MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police are searching for two suspects Sunday afternoon after an alleged armed robbery on Northgate Drive.

Sgt. Hardee with the Myrtle Beach Police Department told WMBF News that officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the China Garden on Northgate Drive just off Highway 707 shortly before 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Employees in the restaurant reported that two black males, one wearing a red sweatshirt and one in a black hoodie, had robbed them and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Both suspects presented handguns, Hardee said.

An incident report obtained by WMBF News states two males entered the restaurant to pay for an order place over the phone minutes before. Both males then left the store.

Witnesses described them as one black male in his early twenties wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, and one white male.

Witnesses say one another man, identified as a black male in his early twenties wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, entered the restaurant five minutes later and presented a silver handgun, demanding money from the cash register.

The report states that the black male in the red sweatshirt entered the back door of the restaurant at the same time, also presenting a handgun.

The employee gave a portion of the money in the cash register to the men, and they took what was left in the drawer themselves before they fled through the back door.

Information about the identity or whereabouts of these suspects should be reported to Myrtle Beach Police as soon as possible.
