GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Georgetown County deputies have
charged a man with manufacturing marijuana after finding 86 marijuana plants in
Pawleys Island Tuesday.
Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman for the Georgetown County
Sheriff's Office, said deputies as well as officers with the Georgetown and
Andrews police departments began a surveillance operation in the 700 block of
Crooked Oak Road after receiving anonymous complaints.
During a search, 86 marijuana plants with a street value of
$275,000 as well as 10 ounces of marijuana valued at $8,550 were located,
Cuthbertson said. Deputies then arrested David Mallinson, 39, and charged him
with manufacturing marijuana.
Mallinson remains in custody at the Georgetown County
