MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Three men have been arrested after two purse snatchings over the weekend, according to Myrtle Beach Police.

The first occurred in the parking lot of Coastal Grand Mall around 10 a.m. Saturday. According to the 76-year-old victim, she left Dillard's and was making her way to her vehicle when a suspect grabbed her purse and pulled it off her shoulder.

The victim told police he jumped into the driver's seat of a red Ford Taurus with an Arkansas tag. She screamed "Red car! Red car!" and a witness on scene got into his own truck and began following the suspect.

According to the witness, the suspect stopped in an intersection on Forestbrook Road and dropped the purse out of the window, where the witness picked it up and returned it to the victim. The victim said $40 was missing but the rest seemed to still be in her purse.

Two suspects were later identified and arrested in connection to the purse snatching, according to Myrtle Beach Police.  20-year-old Zachary Ross Meadows and 21-year-old Shelby Austin White have been charged with purse snatching.

Later on Saturday, officers were flagged down by a group of people in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard to report another purse snatching.

This time, the 69-year-old victim said she and a witness were walking in a parking lot behind the apartments when a suspect grabbed her purse out of her hand and ran southbound on Withers Ally.

According to a report, the purse was believed to have been found inside a room at the Candy Castle Apartments. The suspect was spotted running into the Gay Dolphin parking lot, where he laid underneath a vehicle, the report said.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Tyler Wade Wilson, was taken into custody and charged with purse snatching.
