HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A 19-year-old man is behind bars Monday morning after allegedly stabbing two people and assaulting another during a birthday party early Sunday morning.

According to a police report obtained by WMBF News, officers responded to a home along Innisbrook Court in the Myrtle Beach area in reference to a stabbing around 3 a.m. As they were en route, officers were told the suspect, Ryan Powers McShea, was still inside the home and was trying to flee. They were later told he had left the scene running toward Tibwin Avenue.

Once on scene, officers spoke with witnesses who said McShea along with the group of people were celebrating a birthday and later returned to the home. At that time, McShea allegedly began arguing with a victim and a witness who tried to get him to leave.

The report stated McShea then went into the kitchen and found a knife. According to witnesses on scene, he cut another victim before stabbing the victim he had been arguing with in the abdomen.

A third victim told police she was trying to detain McShea when he struck her and fled the home.

About a half mile away from the scene, officers learned McShea was in another subdivision and wanted to file a police report for assault and said he needed medical service. He was transported to Conway and taken into custody, where he was charged with two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature as well as another charge of assault and battery in the third degree.

Martha Hunn with Coastal Carolina University confirmed McShea is a student there, but told WMBF News because of his arrest, he is not allowed on campus per university policy. The school is reviewing his case.

McShea's bond was set at $20,500 for the three charges and he was released Sunday afternoon around 4:45 p.m., according to records with the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
