MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police have arrested a man officers say stabbed another in the woods off Robert Grissom Parkway Friday night.

According to the incident report, officers initially responded to a gas station on Robert Grissom Parkway shortly after 8 p.m. Friday night. Not finding a stabbing victim, the officers searched the surrounding area and found Horry County Police officers with a victim in the woods east of the highway.

The victim told officers that he was arguing with a man over a bag of tobacco. That argument escalated and the suspect stabbed him in the stomach with an unknown weapon.

The victim was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries while the suspect was last seen walking on Robert Grissom Parkway.

Monday, officers arrested David Russell Jayroe, 30 and charged him with attempted murder at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
