MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police have arrested a suspect after an early morning robbery at a gas station on 21st Avenue on Saturday.

Officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Scotchman on 21st Avenue North around 4 a.m. Saturday. An employee at the store told those officers that she was mopping the restrooms in the store when she heard the chime of the door indicating someone had come in. She continued mopping toward the rear of the store when she was approached by the male suspect and he pointed a handgun at her.

An incident report obtained by WMBF News states the suspect told the employee, "Don't look at my face," before she ran away from him into the ladies restroom.

The employee told officers that the suspect attempted to enter the bathroom after her but soon gave up. She stayed in the restroom until she thought the suspect had fled and then called police.

Responding officers met with the employee and reviewed surveillance video, which show the suspect attempting to take money out of the two cash registers, and fleeing when he could not get the money out.

The suspect was described as a black male in his fifties. The suspect was wearing a white hoodie with dark arms, grey pants and black and white shoes.

Michael Anthony Ross,51, was later located by Myrtle Beach Police and arrested on a charge of attempted robbery.
