MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) The Myrtle Beach Police Department continues to search for a suspect responsible for robbing a bank just before noon Thursday.

Capt. David Knipes, spokesman for the Myrtle Beach Police Department, told WMBF News police are searching for a black male supposedly dressed as a woman who robbed the TD Bank at 2003 N. Oak Street.

The suspect was last seen heading toward the Sheradon. Knipes said police believe the suspect had been casing out another bank within the city earlier in the day but did not provide further details on that investigation.

Around 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious person at the Conway National Bank located on North Gate Road. Knipes confirmed to WMBF News that that incident is not related to the robbery at all and was closed.

The suspect appears to have been wearing a silver dress, black leggings or stockings and silver or white high heeled shoes at the time of the robbery. They were also wearing black gloves with the fingers of the gloves missing.

Anyone with information should contact MBPD as soon as possible.

Further details surrounding the robbery have not been released at this time.
