Suspect in lead pipe beating turns self in

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) The Darlington County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man wanted for allegedly beating another man with a lead pipe during an argument.

Capt. Andy Locklair with the Darlington County Sheriff's Office said deputies and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force had been searching for 25-year-old Jamale Harrison Graham on charges of attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

According to deputies, Graham and a Darlington man got into an altercation. During that incident, Graham allegedly attacked the other man with a lead pipe, sending the victim to the hospital with severe head injuries.

Locklair said the victim is expected to recover.

Thursday, Locklair said Graham had turned himself into authorities. He remains incarcerated at the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
