HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Horry County Police are investigating two separate armed robberies that occurred in the same area just hours apart early Tuesday morning.
The first robbery happened just before 3 a.m. at the Kangaroo gas station located at 7020 Highway 90. Police say in this instance, one person armed with a shotgun walked into the store, demanded items, and walked out.
Then a little more than an hour later, a home in the 9100 block of Hwy 90 was broken into by three suspects armed with guns.
Police say the gunmen attempted to rob the occupants of the home just after 4 a.m. Tuesday, but it's unclear if anything was actually taken.
Sgt. Robert Kegler with HCPD says detailed suspect descriptions are not yet available, but did confirm officers are searching for one black male in relation to the Kangaroo gas station robbery, and in the home break-in, police are looking for one black male and two white males.
Officials report that there were no injuries in either case and add that there's nothing that indicates the robberies were related.
Lt. Creel with HCPD says officers are searching for all suspects at this time.
