Carolina Forest Goodwill store set to open in Feb.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) The new Goodwill store that has been planned for the Carolina Forest area of Horry County is set to open next month.

According to a recent press release from Goodwill Industries, the organization will open its Carolina Forest retail store on Feb. 16.

The new store is located at 2164 Oakheart Road in Carolina Forest and is 15,000 square feet with a convenient drive-through donation center for donors.

"By expanding our services we are expanding the opportunity for people to donate, and therefore expanding our ability to further achieve our mission," said Robert Smith, CEO and President for Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina.

The retail store will not be the only celebration for Goodwill. Also opening on Feb. 16 will be a 1,500 square foot Job Link Center which will offer individuals free employment services such as access to computers for job searches, assistance with resumes and other resources that help to ensure economic independence, as stated in a recent press release.

"When people have economic independence, they tend to be happier, more confident and contribute more to their community," said Smith.
