Congressman Tim Scott Town Hall Meeting informs voters

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Congressman Tim Scott and Governor Bob McDonnell talked with undecided voters at a town hall meeting at Celebrity Square in Broadway at the Beach. They spoke on tough topics like job creation, off-shore energy and limited government.

Members of the crowd said they came from all over to hear McDonnell weigh in on the issues that are key in this election. McDonnell said, "The top issues in this race to me is spending, taxes, fiscal responsibility, jobs, energy, bread and butter kitchen table types of issues dominate in this election."

Governor Bob McDonnell added, "I think a governor would be best for the nominee but I'm partial. Because they don't make excuses, they have to balance budgets, have to focus on job creation and real solutions."

Neither McDonnell or Scott endorsed any particular candidate.

McDonnell stated, "I am endorsing a set of principles right now. I want to win badly this year. We have major challenges facing our country. There is more debt and deficit than in history. Horrible jobs picture and don't have good leadership in the White House."

Poll Analyst Frank Luntz said South Carolina is full of undecided voters, even more than Iowa and New Hampshire. Luntz stated, "There is excitement about potential of change coming in November but people are all nervous. They don't know if they will be successful but after tonight, they will believe they have power to make a difference but they are not sure who is going to make that difference."

Luntz said voters could be making their decision in the next couple of days, climaxing with the debate Monday night.

Luntz stated, "I don't think Republicans believe there is a perfect candidate. They see something they like in everyone but they see none of them have everything they like so they are hunting for the perfect candidate."
