BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) The Bennettsville Police Department
has made an arrest in connection to a burglary and arson at a local church in
2009.
Lt. Larry Turner with the Bennettsville Police Department
said officers have arrested Jarrod Demario Hicks, 19, of Bennettsville and more
arrests are possible.
In 2009, the Word of Life Christian Center Ministries'
gymnasium located at 1300 West Main St. was burglarized and then set on fire.
After two years of investigation by Bennettsville Police, the South Carolina
Law Enforcement Division, Bennettsville Fire Department, Marlboro County
Probation, Parole and Pardon Services and the Marlboro County Solicitor's
Office, Turner said a break in the case finally led to the arrest.
Further details surrounding the investigation and arrest
were not immediately made available by officials.
