HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) Two sixteen-year-olds arrested in connection with a homicide on Spivey Avenue in Myrtle Beach in December 2011 will be charged as adults.
South Carolina law allows for juveniles charged with crimes that potentially bear a sentence of fifteen years or more to be charged as adults with that crime, said Assistant Solicitor Brad Richardson.
Jamar Freddie Williams, 16, is charged with murder and attempted armed robbery. Rondric Smith, 16, is charged with murder, attempted armed robbery and accessory after the fact.
A bond hearing held Tuesday decided that the two juveniles would be charged as adults.
Williams and Smith are currently in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice awaiting sentencing.
