HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) A Conway man has been arrested after officers say he assaulted a woman in a motel room Monday.

According to the victim, her boyfriend left the motel room to walk to a nearby convenience store when Jonathan Lee Hicks, 34, knocked on the door. She said she opened the door just a little bit and Hicks then pushed his way inside, causing her to hit a wall, a police report from the Horry County Police Department said.

Hicks allegedly grabbed the victim and forced her onto the bed, where he began kissing and biting her neck. Officers observed red marks along her neck.

The victim said Hicks began undressing her as she struggled against him and soon after her boyfriend returned. The boyfriend then grabbed Hicks and told him to leave, according to the report.

Officers located Hicks and tried to speak with him. According to officers, Hicks said he was high on drugs at the time and could not give a statement about the incident.

The report indicated that Hicks was charged with criminal sexual conduct, however, online booking records with the J. Reuben Long Detention Center say Hicks has been charged with assault and battery in the second degree.
