Suspect on loose in Florence Co. credit union robbery

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) The Florence County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection to a credit union robbery Monday afternoon.

According to Capt. Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Nuncor Employees Credit Union located at 1202 North Cashua Rd. around 2:45 p.m. after a panic alarm.

Witnesses on scene reported an unknown black male entered the credit union and demanded cash from the tellers before fleeing in a white Chevrolet Impala.

The suspect has been described as standing 5'7" and weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing an olive jacket, khaki pants and a black toboggan hat at the time of the robbery.

He fled in the direction of Lucas Street, according to Nunn.
