GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF)
Concluding an investigation by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Investigators,
three men have been arrested in Georgetown County in connection to a string of
motor vehicle break-ins and other crimes in the Pawleys Island area.
According to Carrie Cuthbertson, spokesperson for the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, investigators issued search
warrants for the residence of Justin Pyatt in Pawleys Island on Dec. 29, 2011.
Execution
of search warrants lead to the discovery of suspected stolen property, and known
stolen property in the home, matched to the property of victims in several
crimes occurring since early fall of 2011.
Based on evidence secured
during the search, 18-year-old Justin Tyler Pyatt was taken into custody and
charged with the following offenses:
- Armed Robbery at the Kangaroo Express
- Burglary first degree
- Possession of a deadly weapon and Burglary second degree at
Pawleys Plantation in November
- twenty-three Breaking and Entering Auto charges
on various dates and locations.
Additional suspects was also charged as part of the
investigation, Cuthbertson said.
Dominique Antonio Smith, 20, of Pawleys Island, was arrested and
charged with Burglary first degree and Burglary second degree at Pawleys
Plantation. Larry Dominique Williams, 18, of Pawleys Island, was taken into custody
and charged with Armed Robbery at the Kangaroo Express and five counts of
Receiving Stolen Goods.
All three suspects are currently in custody at the
Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing for their charges.
