HCPD: Family feud leads man to stab uncle in neck

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) One man is behind bars facing an attempted murder charge after an altercation with a family member became violent.

Lt. Denis with Horry County Police said 27-year-old Marvin Jerome Nance was arrested early Saturday morning after an altercation with an uncle Friday night.

Witnesses told police that Nance and the uncle were arguing for no reason before Nance reportedly stabbed his uncle in the neck. The uncle was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment, but his condition is unknown at this time.

The motive behind the altercation and subsequent stabbing is still unclear, Denis said. According to booking records at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, bond has been set at $50,000 on Nance's attempted murder charge.
