FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) Florence Police have charged four teens and one 25-year-old man in connection to a deadly home invasion and shooting at the end of 2011.
Florence Police Chief Anson Shells said investigators arrested Jaquell Antonio McCullum, 19, of Florence charged him with murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon in commission of a violent crime, first degree burglary and conspiracy in connection to the death of Michael Hawkins, 49.
Jacob Pete White, 17, of Florence, and two juveniles, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy are facing the same charges.
Additionally, officers were searching for 25-year-old Lakavis Antonio Harrison-Cavis, last known to live on Chase Street in Florence. He was described as a black male standing 5'6" and weighing 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and is said to have tattoos on his hands and arms.
U.S. Marshals arrested Harrison-Cavis at a home in Coward. He has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Investigators with the Florence Police Department say Hawkins was gunned down in his home after multiple suspects forced their way into a single-family home on Harmony Street on Jan. 1.
The daughter of the home owner opened the front door, and the suspects, at least one of them armed, forced their way into the residence.
Major Carlos Raines with Florence Police said the father of the home, who was in a back room of the house, was shot by one of the suspects. The home intruders fled the scene once the shot was fired.
Investigators believe the motive behind the crime was armed robbery.
While investigators aren't anticipating any further arrests, the investigation into the death of Hawkins is ongoing. Police believe all involved were acquaintances.
