CONWAY, SC (WMBF) The Conway Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating two men wanted in connection to a couple of violent crimes within the city.

Catina Hipp, spokeswoman for the Conway Police Department, said officers were searching for Dontest Jabar Gerald, 28, and Michael Anthony Potts, Jr., 19.

On Nov. 6, officers responded to an area along Maple Avenue around 2 p.m. after a reported shooting. They found a 34-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, said Hipp. The victim was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.

Warrants for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a pistol by certain persons have been issued for Gerald in connection to the shooting.

On Nov. 4, officers responded to a Conway apartment after a victim reported four men forced their way inside and held him at gunpoint as they tied him up. Hipp said the suspects stole several items before feeling the scene in two separate vehicles.

Warrants for burglary in the first degree, kidnapping and criminal conspiracy have been issued for Potts in connection to the burglary.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Conway Police Department as soon as possible.
