CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - WMBF has confirmed through the CCU Athletics Media Relations Office that safety Josh Norman has been invited to both the NFL Scouting Combine and the East/West Shrine Game.
The NFL Scouting Combine is held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis from February 22nd to the 28th. It will give Norman a chance to work out in front of all 32 NFL scouts.
Norman becomes just the second Chant invited to the Combine, following Jerome Simpson in 2008.
The East/West Shrine Game is played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on January 21st. It is the longest running college football all-star game, dating back to 1925.
Some early mock drafts have the All-American going in the mid to late rounds of the NFL draft. Only two CCU players have been drafted in the program's history.
Tyler Thigpen was a 7th round of the 2007 draft by the Minnesota Vikings, while Simpson was selected in the 2nd round of the 2008 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
