Robbery suspect wounded by store owner

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) A robbery suspect was shot by the owner of a barbershop Saturday night during the commission of a crime, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities say two suspects were attempting to rob All the Way Cuts and Styles on Two Notch Road around 7:30pm when the owner of the shop opened fire and shot one of the suspects.

The other suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ronald Capers, fled the scene, but was apprehended a short time later.

The wounded suspect, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Palmetto Health Richland, but his condition is not currently known.

Capers has been charged with seven counts of armed robbery, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of marijuana.
