LITTLE RIVER, SC (WMBF)- A Little River family says they are living in fear after a pair of brazen alleged criminals robbed them at gunpoint.
According to Horry County Police Reports, a pair of black males, aged 16 to 25, wearing ski masks and dark clothing entered the family's home in the Woodlyn Meadow neighborhood in Little River on December 21st.
When the suspects entered the home, one suspect fired a bullet into the home, and although police recovered the bullet casing, they were unable to recover the bullet.
The report says the two men then ordered the man and woman who own the home to lie on the floor and keep their heads down as the pair stole money, jewelry and a large, flat screen television.
According to the report, the alleged home invasion did not last more than two minutes.
The alleged victims, who chose not to be identified, spoke to WMBF News on Thursday and say the alleged robbery has made them afraid in their own home.
"We're very concerned, we're locking doors, we're alerting our neighbors, everybody's up in arms, we shouldn't have to live like this," the alleged victims say.
Neighbor Pat Huggins says she was shocked to hear about the alleged robbery because she always considered the neighborhood to be a safe place.
"You stay around here, you don't lock your doors, you never think something like this would happen," Huggins says.
The alleged victims say they hope shining light on the alleged crime will help put the alleged robbers behind bars.
"We hope putting this out there will help, [to] either catch these guys or let them not to come back, because everybody's watching," the alleged victims say.
Horry County Police say they are still looking for suspects and leads in this case.
