MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) One woman is behind bars Wednesday after an altercation at the Whispering Surf in Myrtle Beach Tuesday night where one man was reportedly stabbed.
According to a police report, the suspect was arguing with her son as the victim was trying to sleep hours before he said he needed to be at work. The victim stated that the suspect was angered when asked them to be quiet and she slapped him.
The victim stated in the report that the suspect then removed a knife from her pocket and stabbed him in his chest. The victim cut his hand when he grabbed the knife from her and attempted to call police.
The suspect was intoxicated, the report stated, and she claimed the victim had thrown her on the floor. The suspect said she got up from the floor to get her knife from a drawer and stabbed the victim, after which the victim took the knife from her.
The knife cut her hand when he took it from her, she said.
The suspect son's stated that his mother and the victim started shoving each other after the victim had asked her to be quiet so he could get some sleep. The witness said they each pushed the other down on the ground, 'wrestled around,' and then he saw his mother bleeding, but did not see anyone hit or stab anyone.
The victim and suspect were both refused medical treatment.
The suspect, 41-year-old Dawn Hinson Settle, has been charged with criminal domestic violence and was transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
