ATLANTA, GA -

ATLANTA – The Auburn Tigers' game-week practice for the 2011 Chick-fil-A bowl continued on Tuesday morning with a 100-minute session at the Georgia Dome. Wearing full pads, Auburn went back to work on the game plan for Saturday's opponent – the Virginia Cavaliers.

Auburn is looking at Saturday's game as an opportunity to achieve success now, but also to build toward the future.

"Obviously, you want to end your year with a win and this is an opportunity for us to do that," head coach Gene Chizik said. "The momentum it can give you as far as propelling you into the next season is big too. We know that from two years ago with the Outback Bowl. I don't think it's a deal breaker for what it means for next season, but I certainly think it gives you momentum."

While a win could propel the Tigers toward success in 2012, it's also an opportunity for many players that will be contributors next season to get some extra work.

"For young guys out here, this is kind of their pre-spring practice," Chizik said. "We expect them to come out here and be further along than they were four weeks ago. They've had rest, time to get away from football, then kind of take it all back in and it's their second time doing it. I think a lot of our young guys are getting a lot better out here at these practices."

After the morning practice, the Auburn team was treated to lunch at Sal Grosso Brazilian Steakhouse. The meal featured six different kinds of meat and fish along with fried bananas and plantains and an assortment of cheese bread.  The lunch also served as the second competition in the Bowl Week Challenge as both Auburn and Virginia will be measured on the amount of protein consumed.

"The lunch was a lot of fun," sophomore defensive tackle Jeffery Whitaker said. "We had steak, chicken, ribs and a couple of things that I don't think I can pronounce. The thing I enjoyed the most was being with my teammates. I really like being with them. I got full just watching them eat so much."

Auburn will practice Wednesday at the Georgia Dome.
