MBPD investigate reported armed robbery

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police are investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred on South Ocean Boulevard Saturday.

According to the police report, a female victim was walking to work Saturday around 6:45 a.m. on South Ocean Boulevard in the vicinity of Peggy Ann Apartments when she was approached by two men that came out of the bushes and demanded her money.

The victim stated that the taller of the two men stood behind her with his arm around her neck as the other took a small caliber handgun from his pocket. She told the suspects the money was in her purse, which the suspects grabbed from her, threw to the ground, retrieved and opened before asking where the money was.

The victim said in the report she told the two men the money was in her change purse. When the shorter suspect grabbed the change purse, the other suspect released the victim and started to walk toward Kings Highway. The victim continued to walk to work where she called police.

The two suspects were described by the victim as smelling badly as if they had not showered.

The first suspect was described as a black male in his early thirties, standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown sweatshirt and had shoulder length dreads.

The second suspect was described as a black male around 25 years old, standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored sweatshirt and carried a black revolver. He had short black hair.
