MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) In an effort to help keep drunk drivers off the Grand Strand's roadways, Diamond Cab, Better Brands Inc, and the Yahnis company will begin offering free rides homes starting on Friday December 16th.
"My father died drinking and driving when I was 13 years old so its not something I want anyone to experience what I went through," said Josh Rauzi, a manager with Diamond Cab in Myrtle Beach.
The service allows people who turn in their keys, either to a bartender or friend, to be eligible for a free ride back to their home. The service, which has been used in years past, is not meant to be used as a method to get from your house to a bar.
"If you got a free ride home, I mean it's a no brainier...just be safe." added Rauzi.
Diamond Cab's phone number: 843-448-8888
The service will also continue through certain periods of 2012.
