GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) -

Two teenagers have been arrested for vandalizing Christmas decorations in two Goose Creek neighborhoods.

Police say 18-year-old Robert Henley of Goose Creek and a 16-year-old boy damaged outdoor decorations in the Longleaf subdivision and Liberty Hall Plantation.

Investigators say the vandalism happened in early December. According to an incident report, Henley confessed to damaging decorations outside at least seven homes.

Christy Swetkie said her husband heard a pop outside their home and discovered their inflatable snoopy had deflated.

"I think my husband said they had a knife and they cut a hole into the decorations, so that you couldn't inflate it any longer," Swetkie said. "I just think it's crummy. You know we've got little kids and they were all excited about their Christmas decorations and then had to come out in the morning and they were destroyed."

Neighbor Denzel Lockett helped Swetkie's husband stop the suspects from leaving the neighborhood.

"We saw two guys hop out the car and basically one of them went and kicked over the ornaments that you see on the corner over there, just basically started kicking it," Lockett said.

Henley and the 16 year old are charged with damaging private property. If convicted, each faces a fine of $1,902 or 30 days in jail.
