DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) The former Latta High School band director accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student has pleaded guilty to all charges against him Wednesday.

Shipp Daniel, Assistant Solicitor for Dillon County, said Matthew Tyler Hutto pled guilty to the following charges in a Dillon County courtroom:

  • Three counts of disseminating obscene material
  • Two counts of sexual battery with a student
  • One count of assault in the first degree
  • One count of criminal solicitation of a minor.

On April 1, Hutto was arrested by the Latta Police Department and booked into the Dillon County Detention Center. He posted bond not long after.

In May, Hutto was rebooked into the jail after he reportedly had contact with the student he was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with.  He was then put under house arrest.

Hutto was then sentenced to 10 years in jail, suspended to service of two and a half years. He will also serve probation for five years and will register as a sex offender.

He will also be entered into the child abuse registry, according to Daniel.
