MBPD investigating second armed robbery, possible connection

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Investigators with the Myrtle Beach Police Department are investigating a second armed robbery that occurred Saturday morning, that may be connected to another robbery occurring an hour early.

Officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Caravelle Resort on North Ocean Boulevard around 6:45 a.m., approximately one hour after a similar call at the Patricia Grand Resort, said Cpl Bland with Myrtle Beach Police.

The suspect entered the Caravelle office and check-in area and presented a small handgun, demanding cash from the employee. The suspect fled with around $300.

The suspect was described to the responding officers as a black male standing approximately six feet tall, wearing a purple hoodie under a brown jacket.

Myrtle Beach Police are investigating both armed robberies as possibly connected.
