MBPD seek alleged armed robber

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Myrtle Beach Police are searching for a man that allegedly robbed a resort at gunpoint on Ocean Boulevard early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Patricia Grand Resort on North Ocean Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to a police report, the suspect had entered the resort approximately ten minutes before their arrival. The victim had approached the front desk as the suspect said "excuse me."

The victim asked if she could help him when the suspect, the victim claimed, pulled out a small black handgun and said, "Give me your cash and I won't hurt you."

The suspect was leaning over the front desk counter with the gun pointed as the victim emptied two cash drawers, totaling $568 cash, and handed it to the suspect. The suspect took the cash in his pants pockets and fled the scene through the doors facing Ocean Boulevard, the report said.

The victim described the suspect as a black male standing 5'10" tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds. He was wearing a purple hoodie at the time.

After taking a statement from the victim, officers located a male in the area wearing a purple hoodie but the victim said it was not the suspect. Video surveillance from the resort shows that the suspect was also wearing black gloves.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Myrtle Beach Police.
