GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF)- A Georgetown man wanted for two counts of attempted murder was taken into custody today in Naples, FL.
Sherriff's deputies responded to the parking lot of the 521 Mini Mart on Highmarket St. in Georgetown County after a victim reported being shot at in his truck by the suspect. Upon investigation, police found several bullet holes in the truck where the victim and his girlfriend were during the incident.
Neither the victim or his girlfriend were hurt in the shooting.
Brian Keith Elliott of Georgetown, SC was arrested after police followed leads that Elliott and a female companion, 40 year-old Renee Jean Morris, also of Georgetown, had traveled to Florida after the Mini Mart incident.
Information on Elliott was passed onto Florida law enforcement, and the U.S. Marshall Service, who were able to locate the vehicle.
Morris was identified, and taken into custody without incident, and after several hours of surveillance, Elliott was also taken into custody without incident.
Both suspects are still in Florida awaiting extradition back to Georgetown.
