Conway officers spot burglary suspect fleeing, arrest four

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) Conway Police have arrested four in connection to the burglary of a local jeweler during the early morning hours Tuesday.

Catina Hipp, spokeswoman for the Conway Police Department, said officers have charged Sean Christian Earls, 23, of North Charleston, Wendy Ann Wells, 40, of Hanahan, Vernnon Williams, 54, of Charleston and Dennis Brian McCrea, 40, of Hanahan with burglary in the second degree as well as possession of burglary tools.

Just before 3 a.m., officers on routine patrol of the area around Third Avenue saw a white male running from Ann Booth Jewelers and get into a vehicle parked nearby.

As officers searched the building, they found broken glass on the sidewalk.

At that time, the vehicle was seen turning onto Main Street and a officers conducted a traffic stop, where officers located watches, a knit cap with eye holes cut into it, bolt cutters, plastic gloves and other burglary related tools in the vehicle.

All four remain incarcerated at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center at this time.

Further details surrounding their arrests have not been made available by police.
