SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) One woman is behind bars after police say she assaulted her husband after his persistent requests for intimacy while their children were out of the house.

Officers responded to a home in Surfside Beach Monday evening in reference to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife married seven years, also waiting on EMS to respond.

The couple began arguing when the husband had requested intimacy because their children were away with another family member, the police report stated.

The victim's wife did not wish to fill his request because she had been cooking and her ankle hurt. The husband stated that his wife became upset and threw a full beer can at him, which struck him above the left ear from twenty feet away.

The wife claimed she did not intend to hit him, but fearing that her husband was injured she called 911.

The husband suffered for a laceration approximately two inches in length that was bleeding when responders arrived. He was treated on scene and required no further medical attention.

The wife, Christina Lee Lindsey, was arrested without incident for criminal domestic violence and is incarcerated at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
