DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) A 19-year-old man is behind bars after Darlington police officers said he robbed a local Dollar General at gunpoint Saturday.
Sgt. Kimberly Nelson, spokesperson for the Darlington Police Department, said Markquell Tony Moore has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful carrying of a pistol as well as possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection to the armed robbery of the Dollar General located at 941 S. Governor Williams Hwy.
According to Nelson, Moore entered the business around 11:30 a.m. and demanded money from employees before fleeing the scene on foot.
Officers then set up a perimeter and were able to arrest Moore.
Moore remains incarcerated at the Darlington County Detention Center.
