Parents permitted access to St. James High after bomb threat, evacuation

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) An Horry County Schools official is informing parents that St. James High School is managing its own dismissal process, and that the county is not making that decision.

According to Horry County Schools Spokesperson Teal Britton, St. James High School is handling its own dismissal, and she was informed by Principal Vann Pennell that police are now allowing parents to enter school grounds and authorities are escorting each student to his or her parent's vehicle.

Britton adds that the busses that came for pickup were turned away and had to go back to the elementary school. The school busses will return to St. James High School once clearance has been given from Horry County Police Department.
