Runoff decides winner in Conway council race

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) Conway voters meet at the polls once again Tuesday to decide between two candidates for the third available seat on Conway's city council.

The first election, held on Nov 8, determined Incumbent Larry A. White and Barbara Jo Blain-Olds the winners of two of three seats open on Conway's city council.

For the third seat, Conway officials said Incumbent Tom Anderson and Randy L. Alford received the same percentage of votes, and would face each other again for a run-off election.

With all 13 precincts reporting Tuesday, voters decided that with 433 of the total 825 votes cast, that Incumbent Thomas Anderson would occupy that third seat for the next term.

Randle Alford got 392 votes. There were only four provisional ballots, which is not enough to change outcome.

Provisional votes will be counted Wednesday when all votes are certified at 10 a.m.
