WALHALLA, SC (AP) Authorities have closed their investigation into two deaths after determining that a 42-year-old woman first killed her daughter's teen boyfriend at an Oconee County boat ramp and then herself.
The Anderson Independent-Mail reported that deputies used tests to confirm that Laura Gray killed 19-year-old Tylor Garren Stewart a day before using the same gun to kill herself.
Authorities say Stewart was found dead at a boat ramp in October, shot once in the back.
The next day, investigators went to the Pickens home of Stewart's girlfriend to gather information. While officers were there, Gray - the girlfriend's mother - went to the bathroom and shot herself.
Deputies say Stewart's parents told authorities Gray was having a relationship with the teen.
