CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Conway Police say the suspect wanted in connection a shooting on Maple Avenue in 2011 has been taken into custody.
Conway Police responded to a reported shooting on Maple Avenue on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 to find a 34-year-old male victim had been shot in the upper body. The victim was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and was reported to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Small with Conway Police.
Family members told WMBF News that the victim could be paralyzed as a result of his injuries. They said he was trying to break up a fight when someone pulled out a gun and fired at him.
Investigators with the Conway Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of 29-year-old Dontest Jabar Gerald of Conway. He was arrested on March 21, 2013 and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
