Posted: Updated:

HONEA PATH, SC (AP) Police in Honea Path have arrested one teen and are looking for another after two cats were spray-painted and burned.

The Anderson Independent-Mail reported (http://bit.ly/qlnhuR ) a 17-year-old Honea Path resident was charged with two counts of cruelty to animals.

Police say he also faces charges of malicious injury to personal property, illegal graffiti and vandalism, interference with traffic-control devices, grand larceny and damaging or tampering with a vehicle.

Police are looking for another teen on most of the same charges.

The teens are accused of spraying red paint on the trails of 2 cats named Tiger and Butterball and then trying to set them on fire on Sept. 26. The police report says each cat had singed fur.
