News has always been Crystal's passion and started at an early time in her life, from announcing the lunch menu in elementary school, to reporting for Phoenix 14 News at Elon University. Now, Crystal joins the WMBF news team reporting from the Pee Dee Bureau in Florence, SC.
Crystal's bubbly and motivating attitude sparks from her many years of being a cheerleader. She has experiences competing nationally and made appearance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the movie "Bring It On: In It To Win It".
Crystal is a proud alumna of Elon University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 2011 with a major in Broadcast Journalism and minor in Business Administration. While attending Elon University, Crystal was involved in the campus newscast, Phoenix14 News, a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and an Elon Cheerleader. GO PHOENIX!
She has had other professional experiences, interning for KXRM News in Colorado Springs, Colorado and WKCF News in Orlando, Florida.
One of Crystal's most memorable moments was meeting CNN's Soledad O'Brien and having a chance to speak with her about the amazing stories and documentaries she produces unveiling the triumphs and tribulations of issues people are facing.
When Crystal is not giving you the live, local, late breaking coverage, she enjoys watching movies, shopping and exploring everything South Carolina has to offer.
1. The three things I can't live without are cell phone, my clothes, and my family.
2. My favorite music: why pick a favorite when you can put your ipod on shuffle, but my favorite artist is USHER.
3. My personality and my contagious laugh is what makes me unique.
4. My favorite athlete is someone who works hard and plays hard, and my favorite sports team...I don't have one, I cheer for both sides.
5. If I could describe myself in one word, it would be Outgoing.
6. If I could be any famous person, I would be Duh...Oprah.
7. My favorite travel destination is New York, and my favorite food is anything with cheese.
