Bond set for 2 arrested for voluntary manslaughter

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Bond has been set at $200,000 each for the two men arrested in connection with an altercation that took place early Saturday outside the Moonshine Saloon on Myers Road.

The Berkeley County Coroner's Office says Richard Edward Duttine, 35, of Summerville was assaulted at the Moonshine Saloon. He was taken to a local hospital where he died in the Intensive Care Unit at around 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Police officers responded to a physical altercation just before 2 a.m. and found two injured people on the ground. The other victim was treated on the scene and released.

Justin Johnson,25, of Summerville, and Jonathan Powell, 26, of Ladson, are both being charged with voluntary manslaughter.

If released from jail, the judge has ordered the men on house arrest with GPS tracking.
