Williams missed last Sunday's game against Tampa Bay with a quadriceps contusion. Rivera says he is ready to play and will start.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Duke says Alex Murphy is transferring out of the program. Team spokesman Matt Plizga issued a statement yesterdaysaying Murphy is leaving in good academic standing and is expected to transfer to another Division I school. Murphy is a 6-foot-9 forward who played in five games for the 10th-ranked Blue Devils.
CARY, N.C. (AP) - Jamia Fields led Florida State to the NCAA Women's College Cup final, scoring twice in the second half in the Seminoles' 3-2 victory over Virginia Tech on Friday night. Florida State will face the winner of the second semifinal between UCLA and Virginia.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher says Jameis Winston showed no signs of stress during the three weeks the star quarterback had been under investigation for rape. Fisher, Winston and the Seminoles were going through final preparations for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship in Charlotte yesterday.
