BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has arrested a North Carolina man after deputies discovered drugs and other paraphernalia May 29.
Sgt. April Stanley, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said deputies conducted a license checkpoint along Highway 17 at the NC/SC line. When Kirk Jerome Galloway, 55, of Cary stopped at the checkpoint, officers discovered the following:
- 29 grams of cocaine, both in powder and crack form
- 22 grams of marijuana
- $808 in currency
- Various drug paraphernalia including plastic baggies, scales and rolling papers
Galloway was arrested and charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies seized his BMW.
Bond was later set at $100,000.
