Jessica joined the WMBF Storm Team in April 2011 as the weekend evening meteorologist. She comes to the Grand Strand after spending 2 years at KWES-TV in Midland/Odessa, Texas as their morning meteorologist. While in West Texas, she covered everything including fires, snow, extreme cold and heat and severe weather.
Originally from Niles, Ohio, Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with an emphasis on weather forecasting and communications from Penn State University. While in college she had the opportunity to work at WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania doing Sunday evening weather broadcasts.
Jessica has always known that one day she would be a meteorologist. Her interest in weather started at young age when the The Weather Channel was preferred over Sesame Street. Growing up she learned about the F5 tornado that tore through her hometown in 1985, killing 8 people. Her proudest moment came while working in Texas. She was the first person on the air (by at least 45 minutes) with a tornado warning from a storm that produced an EF 3 tornado. This tornado was so powerful it knocked over two 70,000 pound oil pump jacks with their concrete bases!
When not forecasting the weather, Jessica enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing with her dog Molly, playing golf and volleyball, dancing and keeping up with her two favorite sports teams: The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
