COPY-More patrols for more drivers this Memorial Day weekend

Expect to see extra law enforcement on the road this Memorial Day weekend.

Police, deputies and state troopers are keeping a close eye on the roadways over the next few days.

As part of they're Click or Ticket Campaign, authorities will set up several DUI checkpoints, hoping to deter drunk driving and other dangerous driving habits.

"Stop and take a nap along the way if you get tired," advised Sgt. Mark Shahan, Huntsville Police Department.  "Don't drive when you're fatigued. We have as many accidents with fatigued drivers as we do with drunk drivers. People just don't think about it. They think 'I'm just tired, not drunk, so I wont worry about it.'"

AAA estimates about 34.9 million drivers will hit the road across the country this holiday weekend. That's a 2% increase from last year.
