"I've got to come out here and be prepared as ever, every day," says Aramis Hillary.CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - The quarterback competition at Coastal Carolina is really beginning to heat up with less than a week and half of spring practice remaining.
The front runner for the job is Aramis Hillary, a transfer from South Carolina, who also happens to be the WMBF News Athlete of the Week.
Hillary got some experience for the chants last year as Zach McDowell's back-up, but understands whatever advantage he has on the race to become starter can be taken away any moment if he lets his guard down.
"I think coming back with the most experience, guys are going to look up to me as the guy who is going to take that role, but I'm still going to come out here humble, knowing that I've got to compete, and everybody is going to get a chance," declares Hillary. "So, I've got to come out here and be prepared as ever, every day."
Aramis and the Chants will hold their spring game at Brooks Stadium on April 2. Kick-off will be at noon.
