MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the theft of 26 school bus batteries in the Marion County area.
Sheriff Mark Richardson, spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff's Office, said Ronnie Roberts of Marion has been charged with 12 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and twelve counts of petit larceny.
Roberts is believed to have broken into 13 school buses at Creek Bridge High School March 12. The value of the batteries is estimated to be about $2,000.
Further details have not been released at this time.
Roberts is currently being held in the Marion County Jail.
