COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - South Carolina's starting point guard and leading scorer, Bruce Ellington, will be joining the Gamecock football team.
According to multiple reports the freshman All-SEC guard has informed head basketball coach Darrin Horn of his intentions, and spoken with multiple coaches on the football staff.
Ellington is just now awaiting clearance to begin practicing with the football team.
It remains unknown what Ellington's status will be with the Gamecock basketball squad, who just found out earlier this week that sophomore guards Ramon Galloway and Stephen Spinella are transferring.
In high school, Ellington was named to the Shrine Bowl after helping lead Berkeley High School to the state championship in football in 2009.
