Ashley considers joining the WMBF news team as a video journalist to be the perfect first step in her career after graduating from Bob Jones University in Radio and Television Broadcasting. WMBF's location in Myrtle Beach is like the icing on top of the cake. Being a 19 year resident of South Carolina, Ashley is no stranger to the Myrtle Beach area having spent more than one family vacation along the Grand Strand.
In her senior year of high school, Ashley's plans to major in speech were unexpectedly changed when she won first place in a high school TV Editorial competition. The opportunity to deliver that editorial on the "small screen" was addicting! For the first time she became excited about a career that would provide opportunities to meet, interact with and influence people while reporting life-impacting stories.
Ashley was a reporter and anchor for her university's weekly television news program and considers her one year internship with FOX Carolina in Greenville, South Carolina, invaluable.
Ashley looks forward to exchanging her former role as seasonal tourist for the role of resident reporter and integral part of the Myrtle Beach, Florence and Pee Dee areas. She loves to tell the stories of its people.
